Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 25 February 2021, The Hub at Bridgwater was established to provide an inclusive, non-judgmental neighbourhood anchor where local people and voluntary groups can come together.
Governed by 5 unpaid trustees and supported by 12 active community volunteers, we bridge the gap between neighbourly care and specialist support services across Somerset.
“To further or benefit the residents of Bridgwater and the surrounding areas of Sedgemoor without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.”
In furtherance of these objects, the trustees maintain and manage our community centre at 7 Valetta Place, Bridgwater, TA6 3HR in co-operation with statutory and voluntary bodies, ensuring every space, café session, and support service remains unconditionally inclusive.
Every programme at The Hub is delivered directly from our Valetta Place venue by trained volunteers and local partner coordinators.
Our regular drop-in cafés offer a safe, welcoming environment where local residents enjoy affordable refreshments, build friendships, and combat loneliness through inclusive social groups.
